Volkswagen recalls nearly 70,000 electric vehicles due to fire risk
The battery issue affects VW ID.3, ID.4, ID.7, ID. Buzz, and Cupra Born models from 2022 to 2025

In Germany, the concern plans to return around 10,000 vehicles to service centers. Letters to owners will explain the next steps and where to go for maintenance.
Until the battery is checked, owners are advised to charge it to a maximum of 80%. A special sticker must also be placed on the vehicle, and the battery should be shown to a car repair shop.
Following its own investigation, the company linked the defect to manufacturing flaws from suppliers. The company stated that no incidents involving these vehicles have been recorded so far. It is possible that the issue can be resolved with a software update, so battery replacements may not be necessary for all vehicles.
