Uzbekistan to Change the Procedure for Pension Appointment and Payment
A pilot project will be launched in the Andijan, Samarkand, and Syrdarya regions
The Cabinet of Ministers approved Resolution No. 576 on October 19, 2026; the document entered into force on the same day. It provides for a phased transition to a compact format of operations for the appointment of state pensions.
Starting from January 1, 2027, it is planned to abolish district and city divisions of the Treasury Committee and the Pension Fund. Instead, small offices will be opened under regional administrations: one to three employees are planned for each district and city.
During the experiment, territorial branches of the Pension Fund will appoint and recalculate pensions, change their type, and organize payments. To fulfill these tasks, a commission of three people will be formed in each district participating in the pilot.
Following the results of the review, this procedure is intended to be extended to the entire republic starting from January 1, 2027.
