ChatGPT Now Allows Hiding Chats with a PIN Code
The new feature lets users remove selected conversations from the regular history, pinned chats, and search results

Such conversations are grouped in a separate section called Locked chats, access to which is protected by a 4-digit PIN code. On iPhone and Android, Face ID and other authentication systems can be used for access.
Locked chats do not provide end-to-end encryption and do not exempt OpenAI from legal obligations. They also do not automatically change settings for using conversations to train models or data retention periods.
If the PIN code is reset, all protected chats and files uploaded to the section will be permanently deleted without the possibility of recovery. The feature supports voice mode on iOS and Android but does not allow locking Codex conversations. The rollout is being conducted in stages, so the setting may take several days to appear in an account.
