61 Illegally Constructed Apartment Buildings Identified in Tashkent
A total of over 320 unauthorized construction sites have been discovered in the capital, including individual houses, shops, kiosks, and pavilions.
The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan clarified that 61 of these sites are specifically apartment buildings. Earlier, the head of the agency, Sherzod Khidoyatov, had reported over 720 such buildings. The Ministry acknowledged an error in the statistics and issued an apology.
A procedure for commissioning these problematic buildings is being developed. The buildings must comply with urban planning requirements, including the presence of children's playgrounds and parking spaces, and their structural integrity is planned to be verified through instrumental inspection. Previously, Khidoyatov had urged apartment buyers to check the registration of new constructions in the "Transparent Construction" system.
