Daniil Medvedev advances to quarterfinals of tournament in Almaty

In the next match, the tennis player will face France's Terence Atmane, the world's 98th-ranked player.

In the second round of the Almaty tournament, Medvedev defeated Japan's Se Shimabukuro 6:2, 6:1. The match lasted less than an hour.

Medvedev is fifth in the world rankings and the top seed at the ATP 250-category event. Shimabukuro holds the 109th position.

Russian Karen Khachanov has also reached the quarterfinals. His opponent will be Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik.
