The agreements cover roughly a quarter of the world's available commercial aircraft fleet. Business jets, cargo planes, and light aviation are not included in the count.
In the last quarter, aircraft equipped with Starlink kits began operating flights for Asiana Airlines, Lufthansa, Korean Air, Swiss, Copa Airlines, and Austrian Airlines. Since the beginning of the year, SpaceX has quadrupled the production of aviation equipment and plans to double it again by the end of 2026.
SpaceX states that the presence of Starlink influences passengers' choice of carrier. The company also claims that aircraft with its communication system demonstrate higher occupancy rates.
