Uzbekistan May Simplify Processing of Passenger Customs Declarations

The Customs Committee of Uzbekistan has proposed automating passenger declarations for individuals. Special algorithms will enable the system to verify and process documents without the involvement of a customs officer.
The mechanism is intended to apply to documents with a low risk level. Such declarations cannot contain information about currency valuables, prohibited goods, or products for which declaration is mandatory. When processed automatically, the digital signature of a customs authority employee will not be required.
