Uzbekistan Wants to Rename Medical Workers' Day
Now they also want to honor pharmacists, of whom there are over 50,000 across the country

The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis approved and sent to the Senate a draft law expanding the official name of the professional holiday for healthcare workers.
The document provides for amendments to the current legislation: the term "Medical Workers' Day" will be replaced with "Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers' Day."
Such an adjustment will synchronize the conceptual framework of the laws "On Citizens' Health Protection" and "On Medicinal Products and Pharmaceutical Activities."
As emphasized in parliament, officially recognizing the merits of pharmacists will enhance the prestige of the profession and serve as an incentive for their moral and material support.
