Chorsu Manar: The First Stone in the Foundation of the Future and a Message to Posterity

On 19 October 2026, a ceremony was held in the historic centre of Tashkent to lay the first stone of the multifunctional Chorsu Manar complex. The symbolic event included placing a time capsule with a message for the residents of the capital in 2126 into the foundation of the future building.

Representatives of MANAR Development, the company implementing one of the capital's largest development projects, gathered at the construction site where the famous Chorsu Hotel once stood. During the ceremony, the company's CEO Davron Fayzimatov delivered a speech on the project's significance for the city, its heritage, and the responsibility of the current generation to future ones.

A special part of the ceremony was the laying of the time capsule. It contained a letter written in three languages—Uzbek, Russian, and English. The message is addressed to those who will live in Tashkent exactly a century later.

"We understand that we are building not just a new project. This is a place with history, memory, and special significance for Tashkent. In a hundred years, you will live in a different world, with new technologies and opportunities. We do not know what it will be like, but we hope that the main thing will remain unchanged: people will strive, create, develop, and care for their loved ones, leaving behind something unique. And we want to believe that our project will become part of the city's history and a source of pride for the people of the future…"—states the letter, which Davron Fayzimatov read aloud to the ceremony participants.

Its central idea is the continuity of generations and the desire to leave behind not just buildings but something greater: a space that can become part of the city's history and the lives of its residents. The choice of location for such a message is particularly symbolic. For decades, the Chorsu Hotel remained one of the architectural landmarks of old Tashkent. Now, a new chapter in the city's history begins here.

The Chorsu Manar project involves the creation of a modern multifunctional complex with a total area of over 100,000 square metres. It will combine residential spaces, a business centre, shopping galleries, public zones, and world-class hotel infrastructure.

One of the key components of the project will be a hotel complex under the Radisson brand. Special attention is being paid to integrating the new space into the historic environment of Chorsu—one of the oldest and most recognisable districts of the capital. The Chorsu Manar concept is built on combining the traditional identity of the location with modern requirements for architecture, comfort, and urban infrastructure.

The laying of the first stone marked the project's transition to a new stage of implementation, while the time capsule added an additional dimension to the event—human and historical. After all, on 19 October, Chorsu Manar received not only the first stone of its foundation but also a message to the future. Its recipients will read these lines in a different Tashkent—the city of 2126.
