Meta Plans to Raise Up to $95 Billion for Artificial Intelligence Development
The company intends to sell shares to finance the construction of data centers and expand AI infrastructure.
Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has announced plans to raise up to $95 billion through a share offering. Of this amount, the company expects to receive approximately $35 billion as part of already announced proposals, with an additional $60 billion coming from the future sale of non-voting shares, which may begin in 2027.
Chip manufacturers Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom have expressed interest in purchasing up to $5 billion worth of Meta shares each, though no final commitments have been made yet.
The raised funds will help the company expand its computing capacity and develop artificial intelligence-based products. In 2026, Meta plans to allocate between $135 billion and $145 billion for capital expenditures.
