Uzbekistan to launch portal to combat workplace harassment
By December 1, 2026, government institutions will be connected to a platform for confidential submission of complaints about violence and harassment.
The Ministry of Employment announced the launch of a digital mechanism to protect employees. The country is implementing a centralized system to counteract physical and psychological pressure, persecution, discrimination, and sexual harassment in the workplace.
The basis for the innovation was Presidential Decree No. PQ-345, signed on September 21, 2026. The document aims to suppress all forms of harassment and create safe working conditions for employees.
By December 1, 2026, a special resource titled "Safe and Respectful Work Environment" will begin operating. The platform is designed for government structures and agencies, whose employees will be able to submit their complaints in electronic format.
The system guarantees the confidentiality of the complainant's personal data. If a complaint concerns an immediate supervisor, responsible person, or senior employee, the portal will automatically forward the materials for consideration to a higher authority.
Private sector entities will also be given the opportunity to monitor the work environment. By the beginning of winter 2026, the functionality of the platform dmi.mehnat.uz will be adapted so that non-governmental enterprises can voluntarily connect to the service.
