Own work · Изменён размер и формат файла.The Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) has temporarily restricted the supply to Russia and sale of certain beverages from Georgia. The reason cited is the identified non-compliance with established requirements for taste and other organoleptic properties, physicochemical characteristics, and product safety. As RBC reports, the restrictions were introduced based on a decision by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The restrictions apply to Coca-Cola produced in Georgia, mineral water "Nabeglavi", wines from several Georgian producers, beer from the "Georgian Beer Company", and cognac. The Association of Retail Trade Companies (AKORT) stated that retail chains within the association have already begun removing the listed products from sale.
Stanislav Bogdanov, the head of AKORT, emphasized that ensuring product safety remains one of the main tasks of retail chains.
