Latvian Businessmen Propose Creating Logistics Hubs in Uzbekistan
Representatives of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport and a Latvian delegation discussed plans to develop transit routes through the country to access markets in China and Europe.
On 6 October, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport held negotiations with Latvian entrepreneurs on expanding cooperation in logistics and transit. The meeting was opened by Evija Dumpe, a representative of the Latvian Embassy in Uzbekistan, UzDaily reports.
The parties discussed the creation of new logistics centers in Uzbekistan. According to Latvian businessmen, such hubs will help deliver Uzbek products to China and other Asian countries, as well as organize cargo shipments from Asia to Latvia and Europe.
Additionally, the meeting presented proposals for cooperation in railway and air transport, as well as optimizing existing transport routes between Central Asia, Asia, and Europe.
