The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has highlighted three key risks to the global economy: persistently high oil prices, record levels of government debt, and a sharp increase in investments in artificial intelligence. This was stated by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva during her speech in Singapore ahead of the Fund's and the World Bank's annual meetings.

According to her, countries with limited budgetary capacity and dependence on energy imports will feel the slowdown in growth more acutely than others. Meanwhile, states actively investing in AI may receive an economic boost. Georgieva noted that equipment for AI and related products already account for more than one-tenth of global goods trade.

Oil prices around $100 per barrel are intensifying inflation and increasing the cost of servicing government debt.
