European leaders seek candidate to challenge Infantino in FIFA elections
Leaders of UEFA and other confederations are confident they will find an opponent for the current FIFA president by 18 November, writes Guardian Sport.

European, North American (Concacaf), and Asian football confederations oppose the re-election of Gianni Infantino but have yet to agree on a single candidate. Their presidents—Aleksander Čeferin, Victor Montagliani, and Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa—have ruled out their own participation in the elections.
Among the potential contenders is former footballer Luís Figo, who previously called on Infantino to resign. The opposition plans to announce a candidate closer to the deadline to avoid pressure from FIFA.
At a FIFA Council meeting on Thursday, Infantino will present a report on the Fifa Forward Enterprise project, address questions about the Folarin Balogun case, and propose an amendment stripping the disciplinary committee of the right to overturn single-match suspensions for direct red cards.
