General Motors CEO Mary Barra confirmed that the company intends to present "eyes off, hands off" autonomous driving technology by 2028.

The system will first appear in the electric Cadillac Escalade IQ before expanding to other models. Unlike the existing Super Cruise, the new technology will allow drivers to divert their attention from the road under certain conditions.

Barra noted that she recently tested an updated version and was satisfied with the progress. According to her, GM will focus on autonomous systems for personal vehicles rather than the robotaxi market, which the company abandoned in December 2024.
