Uzbekistan and Russia Aim to Launch 17 Joint Projects Worth $350 Million

At an intergovernmental commission meeting in Fergana, the parties signed a strategy for scientific and technological cooperation until 2040 and discussed the construction of a nuclear power plant in the Jizzakh Region.

Mutual trade between the countries increased by 10% over the first eight months of 2026. The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia previously set a goal to increase trade turnover to $30 billion.

The joint projects worth $350 million are planned to be implemented in the chemical industry, agricultural processing, and metalworking. Issues of energy, personnel training, and localization of equipment production were also discussed.

Following the meeting, agreements were signed between regions of the two countries and an investment agreement with the marketplace Wildberries. The company will build a logistics complex in the Zangiata District of Tashkent Region on a 67.3-hectare site, which will create at least 7,500 jobs and support the export of Uzbek goods.
