US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Visit Samarkand

A C5+1 format meeting will take place in Samarkand, with the delegation including representatives of major American businesses, the US Department of State reports.

Marco Rubio will participate in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the United States and five Central Asian countries—Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The C5+1 format has been in place since 2015 and aims to strengthen regional cooperation.

Over 200 representatives of American companies will arrive in Uzbekistan alongside the Secretary of State. Meetings will also be held with authorities and business circles from India to discuss trade, economic, and energy issues.
