Tokayev opens world's first festival of films created with artificial intelligence in Astana
The President of Kazakhstan called the Astana AI Film Festival a unique project that demonstrates the development of the country's creative industries and supports talented youth.
The international Astana AI Film Festival, dedicated to films created using artificial intelligence, has launched in Astana. This is the world's first competition of its kind, which has gathered over 8,000 applications from 125 countries, including the USA, China, India, and the United Kingdom.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the festival reflects the rapid development of creative industries in Kazakhstan. According to him, the state supports talented citizens and forms an ecosystem for creative projects. The President emphasized that artificial intelligence is transforming the economy and opening new opportunities for young people, allowing small teams to compete with large studios.
Tokayev also drew attention to the need for the responsible use of AI. He compared the technologies to Prometheus's fire—a source of progress and, at the same time, risk. In his opinion, it is important to develop common rules for the safe advancement of artificial intelligence to protect the future of the younger generation. The festival's jury includes well-known specialists in the fields of art and technology.
