Uzbekistan and Thailand agree to prepare visa-free regime agreement

The Thai side is reviewing the document, while the final terms and signing date have not yet been announced.

Since May 2026, Tashkent has intensified diplomatic contacts to facilitate travel for Uzbek citizens to Thailand. This was stated by Omonulla Fayziyev, press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Following direct negotiations, the parties decided to formalize such an agreement. The Ministry continues its work, as Uzbek citizens face difficulties in obtaining electronic visas.

Previously, Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports proposed allowing Uzbek citizens visa-free entry for a maximum of 15 days. It remains unclear whether this duration will be included in the agreement.
