At a press conference, former President of Serbia and head of the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Vučić, acknowledged the defeat of his political force. He referred to a stratified sample: according to him, the opposition 'Student List' won and will receive 135–140 seats, while his party will get around 105.

Vučić did not rule out Serbia imposing sanctions against Russia following the transfer of power. In his forecast, such a step could be possible by March or April.

At the end of September, Vučić resigned from the position of President of Serbia. In total, he led the country for 12 years—as president or prime minister.
