The Norwegian government will submit a bill to parliament on a temporary ban on the use of smart glasses in places where privacy is important. This applies to medical facilities, gyms with changing rooms, schools, kindergartens, parks, and shopping centers.

The ban may also apply to public events such as concerts and sports competitions. Exceptions may be made for vulnerable groups if the glasses are used for socially significant purposes. Temporary measures will allow the issue to be studied and permanent rules to be developed.

Minister of Digitalisation Torgeir Mikkelsen emphasised that a complete ban on the devices is not planned—they will remain available for personal use and in some public areas.
