Students Evicted from Dormitory in Tashkent for Safety Reasons
Authorities temporarily relocated the students to other dormitories, the press service of the Ministry of Higher Education reported.

Students of Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU) and other higher education institutions were evicted from a dormitory that had not been commissioned. The building was constructed under a public-private partnership scheme but lacks cadastral documents and occupancy permits.
The students were settled in the dormitory without following the established procedure and without coordination with the university and the ministry. After an inspection, the students were transferred to available dormitories. The entrepreneur fully refunded the students for their accommodation fees.
Currently, the dormitory's heating and hot water supply systems are not operational. Construction work was not completed on time, so the official opening has been postponed.
