Tesla unveils flying Roadster sports car

Tesla presented the second generation of the electric Roadster sports car at the SpaceX test site in Texas. The presentation featured spectacular stunts demonstrating the capabilities of the new vehicle.

During the demonstration, the Roadster ascended a high, curved ramp and drove upside down. The electric vehicle then detached from the structure, performed a mid-air flip, and landed smoothly. Afterward, the sports car jumped over several Tesla vehicles, executing another aerial maneuver.

To perform the stunts, a fan system providing downforce and gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX were used. The company also demonstrated the Roadster accelerating to 97 km/h in under a second.

Elon Musk stated that serial production of the sports car is planned to begin in 2028. However, the feasibility of using such technologies on public roads remains in question.
