Eurasian Development Bank Increases Funding for Uzum to $100 Million
The funds will be directed toward developing fintech services and expanding digital financial services for the population and businesses in Uzbekistan.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has increased funding for the Uzbek ecosystem Uzum by an additional $30 million, raising the total support volume from $70 million to $100 million. The first agreement between the parties was signed in May 2026—following Uzbekistan's accession to the bank, this became its first investment in the country.
The additional funds are intended for the development of the fintech sector and the expansion of digital financial services for residents of Uzbekistan and small and medium-sized businesses.
According to Uzum, in 2026, Uzum Bank demonstrated the highest growth rates in the issuance of bank cards. Over half of the orders on Uzum Market are paid for using the ecosystem's financial services.
Sergei Ignatov, Senior Managing Director of the EDB, described digital platforms as a crucial part of economic infrastructure, stating that their development promotes technological connectivity in the region and expands access to financial services.
Jasur Djumaev, Founder and CEO of Uzum, noted that the increased funding reflects investors' confidence in the company's strategy and its performance results.
