Uzbekistan's Project to Optimize Medicine Prices Wins International Award
The Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry received the CPHI Pharma Awards 2026 for an initiative aimed at reducing drug costs and increasing market transparency.
The project "Making Medicines Affordable in Uzbekistan" won in the "Excellence With Purpose" category at the CPHI Pharma Awards 2026. The award was given for the introduction of reference pricing, digital monitoring of drug prices, and open access to information on the cost of medicines.
The awards ceremony took place on October 6 in Milan. The reference pricing system regularly analyzes the cost of medicines to prevent unjustified price increases. Data on prices is published in open access for the public.
