Uzbekistan aims to employ 250,000 citizens returning from abroad by the end of the year
Since January 2026, 1.116 million citizens have returned to Uzbekistan. By the end of the year, authorities plan to employ 250,000 of them and support those wishing to start their own businesses.

On November 2, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on labor migration. Following the meeting, it was instructed to provide jobs for 250,000 citizens returning from abroad by the end of the year.
Among them are specialists with experience in Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, and Russia. Regional governors (khokims) and industry leaders have been tasked with selecting suitable vacancies for them, taking into account the qualifications and practical experience of the returnees.
For these purposes, a platform has been created containing information on the returnees' place of work, profession, and work experience. Regional governors and heads of industry agencies have been connected to this platform.
