Uzbekistan's Industry: Growth Driven by Processing
For January–August 2026, the bulk of the volume came from processing, while the raw materials sector reduced output.

The National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported that industrial production for January–August 2026 grew by 8%. Total output reached 926.5 trillion soums, though the dynamics of different sectors varied significantly.
Processing enterprises produced 87% of all industrial output. In energy, production increased, while water supply and waste processing also showed positive dynamics, whereas the mining industry reduced volumes.
The decline in raw material extraction affected natural gas, gas condensate, oil, and coal. Simultaneously, the country increased the production of automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, and cement, while electricity generation rose to 60.5 billion kWh.
The automotive industry expanded passenger car production to 310,400 units. Production of BYD, Onix, KIA, and Haval vehicles increased, while output of Damas, Tracker, and Chery models declined; the production of trucks and engines also grew.
Growth was also noted in textile production: the output of yarn, fabrics, and knitwear increased, but the production of outerwear decreased.
The largest volumes of industrial products came from Navoi Region, Tashkent, and Tashkent Region, while the highest growth rates were recorded in Jizzakh, Samarkand, and Andijan Regions.
