The European Commission is discussing the introduction of a unified tax for companies with annual revenue exceeding €100 million. This refers to the CORE project, which will replace the controversial digital services tax.

It is expected that the levy will affect only the largest corporations, including technology giants. The tax amount has not yet been determined—figures ranging from €100,000 to €750,000 per year have been mentioned. The decision must be agreed upon by all 27 EU countries.

The initiative aims to resolve disputes with the U.S., where Donald Trump threatened to impose 100% tariffs on goods from countries introducing taxes on American IT companies.
