All technical colleges in Uzbekistan will gradually transition to international educational programs, the Presidential Press Service reported. This is expected to expand opportunities for students to acquire practical skills and earn income while still studying.

Currently, such programs are in place at 104 technical colleges. They were introduced with the participation of Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and China. Collaboration with 25,000 enterprises has enabled over 100,000 young people to earn income during their studies.

The report does not specify the total number of technical colleges in the country or when the transition will be completed. It is known that the program will be rolled out gradually to all vocational education institutions.

Special measures are planned for instructors who train students in professions. Starting next year, specialists with international professional certification will receive a 50 percent salary supplement, and the costs of obtaining the certification will be fully covered.

This year, young people studying under the dual education system receive a stipend of up to 1,300,000 Uzbek sums. The dual system combines classroom instruction at technical colleges with practical training at enterprises, so its expansion is directly linked to the opportunity to gain experience and income before graduation.
