Uzbekistan Inspects 301 Flour Producers That Purchased Fund's Wheat
The Competition Committee and the Agro-Industrial Complex Control Inspectorate conducted a follow-up inspection of flour milling enterprises that purchased wheat from the Fund through exchange trading. The monitoring aims to study factors influencing the supply of wheat and flour, their sales, and exchange prices.

Inspectors assessed whether the enterprises have production capacities, how much grain they process and flour they produce, as well as where they store raw materials and finished products. Additionally, they checked product compliance documents and sanitary-epidemiological conclusions.
A total of 301 entrepreneurs engaged in flour production were identified in the country. Of these, 49 did not have their own production capacities: they process raw materials under tolling agreements. Another 22 enterprises were temporarily not operating, and the activities of six were suspended. The inspection also revealed that 42 enterprises lacked a compliance certificate, and eight did not have a sanitary-epidemiological conclusion. In total, the inventory identified 127 enterprises with detected non-compliances or operational peculiarities.
Following the inspection, the Competition Committee sent proposals to the relevant authorities to strengthen oversight of how enterprises use the Fund's wheat purchased through the exchange. It was also proposed to review and improve the existing industry regulation mechanisms.
