Business Activity in Uzbekistan Increased by 38.9% in September
The business activity index reached 1,389 points, showing a record monthly growth since September 2025, reports the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.
In September 2026, the business activity index in Uzbekistan amounted to 1,389 points, which is 38.9% higher than in August and 33.6% more than a year earlier.
Growth was recorded in 13 regions of the country. The highest increases were noted in Jizzakh Region (+50.1%), Tashkent (+44.0%), and Fergana Region (+43.8%). A decline in the index occurred only in Syrdarya Region (-7.8%).
The main drivers of growth were an increase in interbank payments by 10.5%, exchange activity by 87.6%, and the number of operating enterprises by 1.1%. Meanwhile, the number of registered trademarks decreased by 1.6%. The volume of sugar trading on the exchange grew 544.7 times, reaching 10.4 thousand tons.
