Audi to build $4 billion plant in the U.S.: Facility will produce Q7, Q8, and Q9 SUVs
Production of three SUV models is set to begin in the early 2030s, with the plant's capacity reaching up to 200,000 vehicles per year.
Audi plans to construct a $4 billion plant in Georgia—its first manufacturing facility for the brand in the U.S. The company aims to boost sales in the American market and reduce its dependence on import tariffs for vehicles.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner described the decision as a business project and stated that it is not directed against Germany. According to him, the country will remain the foundation of Audi, with vehicle development and technology creation continuing there.
Last year, U.S. tariffs cost Audi 1.2 billion euros, as the company imports all vehicles for the U.S. market from Europe or Mexico. Approximately half of the output from the new plant is planned for export outside the U.S.; Audi promises to provide further details on investments and production later.
